Infants with Sleep Deprivation Are Prone to Obesity
Baby sleep quality in the first years of his life turned out to play an important role for health in the future. Adequate and quality sleep may prevent child obesity. Infants, toddlers, up to toddlers who sleep time less than 10 hours during the night tend to be overweight when they grow increasingly aged adults. Experts believe sleep deprivation causes hormonal unbalanced child, so the effect on appetite. Those who sleep less tend to be easy to feel hungry.
The team of researchers from the University of Washington and California investigated sleep habits in 1000 children under five. They found that infants who sleep less have a chance 2 times more fat in the next 5 years.
Then, how to make the baby have a quality sleep?
This is certainly cannot be separated from the mother and father’s responsibility as parents. A study released several years ago by the Université de Montréal said that the way parents get their children to sleep makes an immediate impact on sleep quality of children.
Actions of the most influential parents include:
1. Giving children food or drink after they awoke. This can lead to nightmares and prevent the child fast asleep.
2. Sleeping next to the baby.
If you want your children sleep more soundly, give them their own space, and provide food at the right time so the process of digestion will not disturb sleeping comfort.
