Involved in the process
The most method used by the nutritionist in the world and is considered the most effective way is to involve children in a series of processes used to manufacture food in their consumption. Encourage children to help fill the fridge with healthy food ingredients, helping to make pastries, or cutting vegetables by hand.
Food groups
“Go” foods are foods rich in nutrients, low in saturated fat and cholesterol content. This food can be consumed at any time, for example: fruits, vegetables, wheat, cereal, lean meat, and poultry without its skin, beans, nonfat milk, eggs and water. “Slow” foods or “Sometimes” foods are foods high in fat, cholesterol, and calories. Should not be too often consumed, e.g. bacon, fatty meats, salad dressings, mayonnaise, milk, fruit juices, and dried fruit. “Whoa” foods are high fat content foods “bad” and calories. Example: fried potatoes, canned fruit, bacon, fried chicken with skin, eggs (including egg yolk), pastries or cookies, cakes (including cakes and tarts), watering popcorn melted butter, milk and soda.
Teach children to eat fruit after eating a main meal. Give your toddler eat when he is hungry. Children who are hungry will eat anything available, including a variety of healthy foods.
